Lugano welcomes the magical autumn atmosphere with the traditional event that will animate the city centre for three days of festivities. Visitors will be able to discover the typical popular gastronomy and taste excellent Ticino wines in the grottini located in the streets of the historic centre and in the local restaurants, observe the lively stalls and do a little shopping.
The city centre will also be enlivened by the traditional music proposed by the nice folkloric groups that will provide a unique musical background and entertainment for the whole family.

"Alpine Excellences" is a regional development project aimed at promoting and preserving the Ticino Alpine Cheese PDO/AOP and the Alpine tradition and culture.
"Eccellenze Alpestri" is a regional development project aimed at the valorization and promotion of Ticino Alpine cheese with PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) status, as well as the preservation of Alpine tradition and culture. The cheeses presented at the Lugano Autumn Festival represent a selection of cheeses that, during the 2022 assessment (organoleptic examination), received the necessary score to become part of the guild of aged cheeses stored in the aging cellar in Mezzovico, which CETRA ALIMENTARI SA established during a pilot phase dedicated to the project. The cheeses featured at the Autumn Festival have undergone a 13-month aging process and receive weekly care through cleaning and inspection of each individual wheel. Today, the cellar houses approximately 3000 wheels of cheese from different Alpine pastures in a controlled humidity and temperature environment, which enhances the unique characteristics of the production and initial storage in the native cellars. We support our Alpine pastures by savoring PDO/AOP Ticino Alpine cheese.
