The Make Your Move Urban Festival is a meeting point and a space for cultural exchange where hip hop comes to life and constantly renews itself. It is a festival that celebrates urban dance and its power to bring generations together, spark creativity and open up new artistic perspectives. While preserving its roots and identity, each edition embraces change and emerging trends, turning into a unique and ever-evolving experience.

Zeta is a multidisciplinary, participatory, and interactive artistic project that shines a light on Generation Z, giving voice to its protagonists so that young audiences can see themselves represented, while encouraging adults to reflect on stereotypes and generational distance.

Descentants is an emerging company made up predominantly of Afro-descendant Italians, founded and led by Carlos Kamizele, a Congolese dancer and choreographer born in Kinshasa who moved to Italy at the age of 7 and began dancing at 14. In this new production, he is joined by twenty-year-old Carolina De Almeida, an outstanding performer born in Imola with Brazilian roots. Together they create Nyumbani — a Swahili word meaning “Home” — evoking a sense of belonging or, conversely, the disorientation caused by the lack of recognition of one’s own roots.

Heating up the dance floor will be talented dancers from Lugano’s dance schools Let’s Dance and Ritmo y Pasion Latina. A unique opportunity to experience the beauty and passion of Latin dances, creating unforgettable moments of joy and carefree celebration. On the decks: DJ Ode.
Discobalera Baldanza

Discobalera Baldanza is a traveling disco and a joyful, fully inclusive dance gathering. Open to everyone from 0 to 99 years old — standing or in a wheelchair, straight or crooked — it’s a space where people can let loose and dance without worries, simply for the pure pleasure of it, in a spirit of lightheartedness and total self-expression. For some, a night at a club is impossible due to inaccessible venues or the lack of companions. For others, traditional clubs may not feel appealing because of the music style, late hours, or typical age range of attendees. Discobalera Baldanza and its promoter, Teatro Danzabile, step in to bridge this gap. Each event features a variety of DJs — both professionals and enthusiasts — taking turns at the decks, moving across eras and musical genres to create a vibrant and stimulating soundscape. All strictly on vinyl, including 45s!

MakeYourMove – Urban Festival presents an Open Mic dedicated to young people from Ticino, conceived as a space for artistic expression within a structured and inclusive urban setting.
The initiative is open to young people aged 15 to 25, with no prior experience required, and offers the opportunity to perform original pieces in a professional and supportive environment.
