Sustainability
An effort rewarded by great benefits
Festivals or concerts, association or neighbourhood festivals, sporting events, exhibitions, markets, conferences and conventions: how do we define their sustainability?
Generally, the objective is to reduce negative impacts, especially environmental and social, while maximising the benefits (social, economic and environmental).
Everything depends, however, on the type of event: where it takes place, how many participants, what kind of activities it offers. Every event is different and responds to precise constraints, but any event can be designed with sustainability in mind.
Taking into account essential practical aspects, such as financial availability or location, the best possible compromise between the different requirements can be found.
Achieving perfection is not the main goal, but quality can be improved with more responsible choices.
In termini generali l’obiettivo è di ridurre gli impatti negativi, soprattutto a livello ambientale e sociale, massimizzando nel contempo i benefici (sociali, economici e ambientali). Tutto dipende, tuttavia, dal tipo di evento: dove si svolge, con quanti partecipanti, che tipo di attività offre.
Ogni evento è diverso e risponde a precisi vincoli ma qualsiasi manifestazione può essere concepita con un’attenzione per la sostenibilità. Tenendo conto degli imprescindibili aspetti pratici, come la disponibilità finanziaria o il luogo, si può ricercare il miglior compromesso possibile tra le diverse esigenze.
Raggiungere la perfezione non è l’obiettivo principale, si può però migliorare la qualità con scelte più responsabili.
