Celebrations will continue in the city centre until 24th December, with the wooden huts of the Christmas Market (open every day from 11:00 until 19:00, on 24th December until 17:00) and the Chalet del gusto (open every day until 1st January, at different times). Shops in the city centre will be open on Sunday 18th December (from 11:00 to 18:00). At the Parco Ciani the bright structures surrounded by the nature in the Enchanted Forest, which can be visited until 8th January. There are still 8 days left to win the rich prizes of the digital Advent Calendar: to participate, simply find the little box of the day, answer the question and fill in an email address.
Don’t miss the special music entertainments before the 25th: five DJ sets under the Christmas tree to get into the festive music mood, with DJ Roxy (16.12), Matteo Petrone (17.12), Maxi B (22.12), Aldo Paolini (23.12) and DJ Val S (24.12). Live street music in the afternoon with Zampognari del Piano (16, 22, 23.12), and Music on the road hosting Cinnamon Duo (17.12) and Jimmy Pedrazzini Quartet (18.12). Surprising animations will light up the city centre: Bianche Presenze and Fire Show (16.12), Christmas Circus (17.12), Christmas Dream (18.12), Roller Snowflakes (22.12). The underwater nativity scene will be inaugurated on the 17th December with a special ceremony from 17:00 (visible until 6th January). Don’t miss the lovely stalls of the Mercato StraOrdinario (18.12) in Contrada di Verla. A great celebration on 31st December will welcome the New Year in Piazza della Riforma, hosted by RSI and Città di Lugano; on 1st January the New Year Ceremony will see the traditional parade and a convivial moment.
Several events dedicated to families are on in the coming days. Children can go on a space discovery tour in Contrada di Verla (17 and 18.12), while at Baita in Piazza Manzoni they will be able to participate to creative workshops (17.12), discover safety with TCS (17.12), meet Santa (18.12) and experience different games (21, 22, 23, 24.12).
